2010 Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine Pere & Fils, Savigny-les-Beaune “Les Vergelesses” Premier Cru Red Burgundy, France.
Dubreuil-Fontaine’s 2010 wines are all showing well and are very pure, with their Savigny-les-Beaune Les Vergelesses really starting to reveal appealing texture and detail, making for a very classy and pretty Burgundy. With a nose of chalky earth, red fruits and delicate roses petal perfume this Pinot Noir continues on the palate with silky mouth feel presenting red currants, strawberry, plum and a core of cherry fruit. There is a touch of spice, mineral and subtle wood notes that add to the whole, and while not a blockbuster, this focused wine should provide fine drinking over the next 5 years and is very pleasurable and elegant through and through.
