perrotminotchard.gif2007 Domaine Perrot-Minot Chardonnay “Cuvee Martine”, White Burgundy, France.
Imported to the States only rarely, the Perrot-Minot Bourgogne Blanc is a real treat and has lots of class and style. I was very impressed with this wine and thought it would be in the $50 range when I tasted it, later I saw that it was available for closer to $20 and loved it even more, and will look into getting a case or two myself! This wine is a cross between a top Chablis and a great Chassagne, all for the price of a Macon! The nose has stones and citrus fruit and flowers leading to a palate of crisp apple, pear and white peaches with mineral and fresh acidity, finishing with a touch of round fig and hazelnuts. I say, find it and go big, as this is a stylish White Burgundy that is a super value.
($21 Est.) 92 Points, grapelive
