2010 Rochioli, Chardonnay Estate Grown, Russian River Valley.
A Fourth of July, American treat, the Rochioli Chardonnay is wonder example of California wine that highlights place and style to perfection with round weighty fruit and creamy oak, but with taming acidity and refined balance of the vintage, all making for a super Chardonnay experience, especially charming on this great all American Holiday. Rochioli’s Chardonnay Estate 2010 shows classic baked apple, lemon chiffon and white peach with hints of pineapple and honeysuckle while a nice citrus burst keeps things lively and fresh in this fleshy white. A trace of mineral and fig add to the mix and smooth vanilla reminds you of the quality French oak without being over done or distracting. The finish is vibrant and lemony with a lingering spiced pear note. One of the best vintages to date for the estate Chard and showcases the vintage and flexibility of the winemaking team in a challenging year the grape growers.
