2010 Le Claux Delorme, white Valencay  (Minchin) Loire Valley, France. Sauvignon Blanc
This region in the Loire Valley, Valencay was all new to me, so it was with wonder and surprise to find the sublime quality and class in this Sauvignon Blanc, it surely rivals Sancerre and Poully-Fume and the price is unbelievably fair. The Minchin 2010 Le Claux Delorme, Velencay is bright and tangy with citrus blossoms, lime and melon with loads of chalky minerallity. There is white peach, gooseberry and white currants that come through on the palate, everything vibrant and brisk flowing with graceful purity. Drink through the summer, but no need to rush it, it has a good chance of aging 3 to 5 years. This is a super white wine and a Sauvignon Blanc to remember!
