2011 Rochioli, Rose of Pinot Noir, Estate Grown, Russian River Valley.
It is always great to drink Rochioli Pinot, no matter how it is done and this Rose of Pinot Noir is a real treat. Only available at the tasting room, the 2011 Rochioli Rose of Pint Noir is a rather full flavored version with mouth filling roundness and lovely Pinot character. The bright acidity helps tame the rich rich cherry fruit and there are hints of strawberry, red citrus and watermelon that remind you it is in fact a Rose. The finish is both refreshing with a crisp spiciness, and lengthy with lingering vanilla and mineral notes that leaves a creamy sensation. Make sure it is well chilled for a brisker, tangy and puckering experience, though either way it is a fun and interesting wine.
